Washington and Alvey Scholars

The UMW Washington and Alvey Scholars Program Mary Washington now has eight full merit Washington Scholarships available to in-state students with exceptional academic credentials. In addition, two Alvey Scholarships are available for out-of-state students. These comprehensive scholarships enable Mary Washington to compete for and attract the best and brightest students to our campus. Candidates for these scholarships are selected from freshmen accepted to the University through the “honors” admission program. Recipients for each are selected based on merit, and the scholarships are renewable for up to four years.

Each new Washington scholarship must be funded at the $300,000 level to be fully endowed; each new Alvey Scholarship must be funded at the $600,000 level to be fully endowed.
