Each semester, UMW Phonathon callers contact thousands of UMW alumni, parents, and friends to ask for critical support of Mary Washington, ensure we have their most up-to-date contact information, and provide campus updates.
When you see 540-654-xxxx on your phone, please answer the call and talk to one of our 20 students who love hearing stories and connecting with our alumni.
Phonathon also is a great way for UMW students to gain relevant work experience for resume development and career planning.
The Fall 2019 Phonathon runs from early September to Mid November.

Why did you choose UMW? The campus is beautiful and the people were so welcoming and kind, I immediately felt right at home.
Why do you like working at Phonathon? I’ve been working at Phonathon since my first semester here at Mary Washington; the amazing people and connections I’ve made both on and off the phone have been invaluable to my time here at Mary Washington.
Why do you think it’s important to give back to Mary Washington? My time here at Mary Washington would not have been possible without the generosity of the wonderful alumni, parents, faculty/staff, students and friends of UMW who give back every year. Once I graduate, I can’t wait to give back so that UMW students can have the same amazing experience I’ve had in my duration of being a Mary Washington student.
What are your plans after graduation? I hope to one day return to college working as a staff member or maybe even a professor!
